Beginning 2009

 To CPAHA members,

 Well, another year has come and gone and we are into 2009.  The club held its election of officers at the last meeting.  I am President.  Bennie Foy is Vice President and webmaster.  Tom Lynch is Treasurer, Secretary and Show Manager.  We have a new Youth Program Director – Co-directors actually.  Kristen Mauer and her mother, Jayne Mauer, have agreed to launch that program for CPAHA.   You will be hearing more from them.  I believe they plan to send a team to the Youth Jamboree this year.  Please feel free to contact her if you know a young person that may be interested.  Jayne Mauer is at 704-467-2621.

 Last year, as a club, our primary focus was the August Show, which came off well.  This year we will again be focusing on the August Show, which is August 21^st, 22^nd and 23^rd in Raleigh.  But in addition, we will be putting a major emphasis on the revitalization of our Youth Program.  Also, the club will be sending two delegates to the AHA National Convention in Reno, Nevada in November.  Our membership total is stable (perhaps even growing some) and our finances are sound. 

 Toward the latter part of last year we had a problem with the website.  The new website can be found at www.cpaha.net. I hope this has not created any inconvenience.  We hope to use it and other electronic means more and more as a way of communicating to our members.

 This looks to be a challenging year in the horse industry.  During this time we will be attempting to be good stewards of the club’s treasury and other resources while serving our members and the Arabian horse community.
